Top 6 Christmas Shops in the United States
Who says that Christmas is only a December holiday? Certainly not us! Christmas shops have become a mainstay of summer resort destinations from New England to Florida. Not only are they fun places to visit, shopping for ornaments and other holiday decorations in the summer is a great way to be all ready when December comes around. Hundreds of Christmas shops exist all over the US and Canada. Here are a few of our favorites:
Bronner’s — This 7.35-acre store in Frankenmuth, Michigan (just outside of Saginaw) bills itself as the “World’s Largest Christmas Store” and who are we to argue. The year-round displays here include decorated trees; thousands of ornaments, including exclusive Austrian blown-glass pieces; animated figures; garlands; lights; and virtually anything Christmas-related that you can imagine. The store (pictured above), founded in 1945, now draws more than two million visitors each year.
Always Christmas – Located in Stone Mountain, Georgia (just outside of Atlanta), this two-story shop is a holiday fantasyland, loaded with decorated trees, Christmas collectibles, wreathes, stockings, and holiday music.
Christmas at Disney — Mickey Mouse knows a thing or two about Christmas, too. All of the Disney theme parks feature a Christmas shop or two, with Disney logo items, such as Mickey and Minnie ornaments, Disney logo tree skirts, and lots more. One of the largest of these stores is located in the Downtown Disney Shops, part of the Disney World complex in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Christmas Tree Shops — This chain of over more than 35 stores started on Cape Cod in 1970 and now has locations in Massachussets, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Maine, and Rhode Island. They feature a full range of mostly Christmas holiday items, most of which are discounted. Follow the link above for exact locations.
Rogers’ Christmas House — This five-house complex in West-Central Florida has themed Christmas scenes in each house, filled with Christmas decorations and other holiday goodies. It’s fun to look and get ideas for the coming season.
Christmas Place — This old-world style store, in the heart of the Smokey Mountains, features a wealthy of hand-crafted holiday items; Christmas collectibles, such as Dept. 56, Annalee Dolls, and Seaphim Angels; and holiday dishes and entertaining supplies. Santa’s Basement offers a wide range of discounted items and bargains.

Bronners is awesome! We use to go there every year and I order from there all the time now. They make the best personalized ornaments.
I have friends who adopted in July and I purchased them a 4th of July tree complete with their own Russian ornaments and USA ornaments…with Red, White, and Blue lights. They LOVE it.

Bronner’s is the best! We try to head up there at least once a year. We are about 45 minutes to an hour from them. Haven’t went the last couple years with the crazy gas prices.
The personalized ornaments are my favorite!

Who doesn’t love Bronner’s! I used to go every year, too. I have a whole collection of “nationality” ornaments I bought there.
Pickel: The 4th of July tree is a great idea! Thanks for sharing.

I would love to visit Bronner’s, I love their website and I know I would LOVE their Christmas Shop. I live in Ireland, so it’s not that easy for me to get there. I now have my own Personalized Christmas Ornament shop online for Ireland and UK customers http://www.santascloset.co.uk . I am hoping that Christmas will become as accepted here all year round as it is in the U.S.

Bronner’s is right in my back yard. Only 20 minutes away. It is truly one of my favorite places on the planet and such a cool experience. Their catalog just came last week and now I am already frothing at the mouth - and my kids are too! I’m starting a new generation of Christmas junkies!! ;)
