The White House Easter Egg Roll
Each year, since 1878, the President of the United States and the First Lady host an Easter egg roll for children the Monday after Easter on the South Lawn of the White House. In 2008, the event will be held on March 24 from 8am to 2pm.
The National Park Service will distribute free tickets on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 730am and on Monday, March 24, beginning at 730am. The tickets will distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at the Ellipse Vistor Pavilion at the corner of 15th and E Streets. A maximum of five tickets will be issued per person. Children of all ages are welcome to attend, as long as there is at least one child seven years or younger and no more than two adults per group. For more information on the Easter egg roll and other White House events, call the Visitors Office 24-hour information line at 202 456-7041.
