Hello Sandy, Happy 8th of March from here in Russia! Thank you for your post! It’s a huge, major holiday - a great day simply to be female! Please visit my blog for photos from the street today. And thank you Sandy for the information. Although that’s the first I’ve heard of this being Mother’s Day in Russia. It’s simply that females are honored - and first on the list will be family members! =)

Happy Eighth of March to you as well, Eileen. How nice to see all of those flowers when I’m buried under two feet of snow. (You’d not want to be in Akron today.)

The Mother’s Day part was from the International Women’s Day Web site.
